Chongqing (ˈtʃɔŋˈtʃɪŋ, chong-ching, 重庆): largest municipality in southwest China; home to more than 30 million people (so perhaps not surprising that "China's most attractive women" reside here) ; destination of the Yangtze river's meeting with its major tributary stream, the Jialing River.

Known as: the 'Mountain City' for its wavy terrain; one of China's 'Three Furnaces' along with Wuhan and Nanjing for its ultra-high summer temperatures and humidity; the 'Fog City', for its 100+ days of fog per year; and the 'Bridge Capital of China' for its impressive 48+ bridges across the Yangtze and Jialing rivers.

This is the city set to be the place we call home in January, as we leave our comfortable life in London behind for a challenging adventure of spicy food, foreign languages and new cultures.

Join us as we push well past the boundaries of our comfort zones, tackling new jobs and lives together, documenting as we go our travels, tales, trials and tribulations of a new life in China.
